Well DH brought home little tomatoes and fresh basil from the farmer’s market. Right here on the coast it is hard to grow, but just an hour inland it gets very warm, so we are luckly. It has been rainy the past few days and DH is out right now mowing the lawn. He spent the weekend putting new gravel on our side yard, so slowly, but surely we are coming along.
This unusual fushia plant was my elderly neighbors. I was lucky to inherit many things from her yard, this is my husband’s favorite:
My first tomatoes:
I spent about an hour today out deadheading and pulling a few weeds. Our zucchini are going to be quite abundant soon:
But now I am tired….I am going to get dinner prepared and heating on the stove so I can rest. Oh yeah I did make strawberry jam!
Your tomatoes are ahead of mine. I have blossoms on one plant. Some bell peppers are coming on as well, but still have a bit to go. Oregon has had alot of rain this month, which decreases my tomatoes growth…oh well! Love all that jam you made. I love strawberry jam. I hope to make some jam this year. Hang in there, my friend. Hugs and prayers!
Rainy here as well, so I can comiserate. I have tiny green tomatoes, but the lettuce is really liking this weather, so that has been nice. With so much rain, all my big shrubs that are in bloom have fallen over from the weight of the blossoms compounded by all the rainfall, so I need to go out and tie things up very soon–right not it looks like you need a native tour guide to even get into the back yard!
I think your fuchsia is a begonia…maybe…very unusual anyway!
That fuschia plant is so beautiful and unusual. I haven’t made anything with our strawberries, because they get eaten up as soon as they are picked!
Thanks for visiting me at learningtable.
